Test Taking Tips

Before Test Day (SAT or ACT)
Get organized:
  • Make sure you have two No.2 pencils and a soft eraser.
  • Have your SAT or ACT Ticket and acceptable photo ID ready.
  • Check your calculator, and put fresh batteries in it.
  • Locate a watch to take with you.
  • Prepare snacks to bring with you.
On Test Day
  • Leave your cell phone at home or in your car.
  • In bad weather, check to see if your test center is open.
  • Leave early.
  • Arrange your ride home ahead if time.
  • Go to the center indicated on your Admission Ticket.
Testing Taking Tips for the HSAP October 23-25, 2007
  • Make sure you have two No.2 pencils and a soft eraser.
  • Get a good night sleep.
  • Eat breakfast.
  • Check your calculator, and put fresh batteries in it. You may use a calculator for the Math test on Thursday.
  • Remember the HSAP test is information you have covered in your classes, don’t panic and take your time.
  • The HASP consists of English Language two days Tuesday /Wednesday and Math on Thursday.
  • The HSAP is not timed.

Word Study and Analysis

Data Analysis and Probability
Research
 
  • Students must earn a Scale Score of 200 or higher or an Achievement Level score of 2, 3, or 4 to pass the HSAP
Become An Expert At Taking Test:
  • Arrive at the test site early        
  • Bring necessary supplies          
  • Remain Calm 
  • Read directions carefully before beginning each section
  • Budget your time
  • Answer the questions you know first
  • Check your answers if there is time
  • Believe in your ability to do well
