A Message From Our Principal, Mrs. Hester
Welcome back Heritage Pioneers!
It is an honor and a privilege to be your principal. I have been honored all summer to get to know the teachers and the staff. I have been asking everyone the same questions as we meet, and every staff member says, “I love Heritage Elementary because it is a family. It is a true community school.” How lucky are all of us to come to a place every day that feels like home? What a blessing. I am so excited for school to begin so that I may continue to get to know each of you.
In looking toward the beginning of the school year, I am thrilled to let you all know that we will be following the 212 degree theme this school year. Students and staff will ask themselves each and every day, “What can I do today that is just one degree better than I did yesterday? Can I get one point higher on my spelling test? Can I say one more nice thing to a classmate? Can I teach this lesson with one more minute of interactive technology? Can I run 1 second faster than I did last week?” We will all strive for continuous improvement in all that we do, realizing that it only takes a little more effort each day to reach our goals. As a parent, how can you follow the 212 degree theme? Ask yourself, “Can I volunteer one more hour in my child’s classroom? Can I purchase one more PTA membership than I did last year? Can I read one more minute with my child tonight than we did last night?” These are all ways in which you can be supportive to our school and to your students.
As your principal, each day that I arrive at school I will work one degree harder than I did the day before to help everyone meet their goals. I am thrilled to be a part of the Heritage family. I can’t wait to get to know all of you. Please stop by and say hello. I know that working together we can continue to make great things happen here at Heritage and in the community.
Your Principal,
Heather M. Hester
