    Heritage Elementary uses art, music, dance, and drama frequently to teach academic instruction. Our Art, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish teachers help each grade level teach our core South Carolina Standards. This increases learning and results in more long-term retention of knowledge.

Heritage has a strong parent volunteer program.  There are many opportunities for field trips and "hands on” experiences. We have a clear vision for academic excellence and fine behavior for all of our students. Our curriculum is based on the SC Standards and embraces the International Baccalaureate Programme of Inquiry model.  

   Creating a vibrant learning center filled with love and support is key to enabling our students to reflect the International Baccalaureate profile: inquiring learners, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, knowledgeable, principled, caring, open-minded, well-balanced, and reflective.  

 As principal of Heritage Elementary, I am certified by the State of South Carolina until 2017. I am certified in elementary education, reading, middle school Social Studies, elementary-secondary-adult guidance, administration and supervision. In the past, I have been a teacher from three-year kindergarten through grade 8. I have been an elementary and vocational high school counselor as well as an assistant principal and principal. I continue to attend classes on the graduate level to sharpen and update my skills.
