GMA's PTA is looking for individuals to volunteer for activities planned for students, teachers, and parents in the upcoming school year. GMA school volunteers are needed regularly, please complete an online Volunteer form and let us know how you're interested in helping our school. GMA provides opportunities for parent and community volunteers throughout the year. Greenville Middle Academy hosts a number of after school clubs and activities for our students. GCSD Visitor & Volunteer guidelines. GCSD has added the Volunteer Portal for those volunteers that have set up accounts to be able to manage/update their accounts.

8th Grade Day - We will have a special lunch for 8th grade students and activities. We need volunteers and supplies for 8th grade day and dance please.
6th & 7th Grade Parent Volunteers needed for 8th Grade Dance! The 8th grade students celebrate the end of middle school with a dance, It's the tradition of GMA that parents of 6th & 7th grade students chaperone the dance. It's a great way to see the festivities before you child is an 8th grader.
8th Grade Dance - The 8th grade students celebrate the end of middle school. Donations of gift cards for prizes will be needed to make the dance a special evening on Friday, May 31. A creative team is needed as we as a decoration and set up crew. We need a dance serving and Glow Gable & Photo Booth crew, as well as volunteers to clean up.
Quiz Bowl- Super fun tournament held annually, in which teams from each grade go head-to-head in answering questions in a "Jeopardy" format. Parent volunteers are needed to help with the timer, buzzer and keeping score. Usually held between the hours of 8:30 - 11:10.
Book Fair – Our annual Scholastic Book Fair was held in the online in January. Our students enjoy seeing the new books and the daily prize drawing, which our PTA provides the gifts.
Spirit Week - Spirit Week is held in October. It's wonderful for our students to participate in theme days and have the opportunity for fun games during lunch periods each day.
Summer Reading Incentive - Donations are needed for our Reader Reward Incentives. Each year we sponsor several reading incentives and need donations of gift cards to Amazon, and Starbucks as student rewards. Contact Mrs. Carey in the library by emailing kcarey@greenville.k12.sc.us or calling 355-5605.
Grade Incentives -Help us celebrate our students that have achieved either All A's, A's and B's, or Perfect attendance. We need your help to donate candy and hand out incentives to these students quarterly. We also need parents to help chaperone the Principal's Honor Roll party for students making all A's each quarter.
Frosty Friday - Our school store is open each Friday at lunchtime and sells ice cream to students for $1. We need parents to work the store. 1.5 hour commitment, great way to see students! Volunteers will be needed each week please.
Incentives for Grades - Incentives are held quarterly, after each grading period, to reward A/B, Straight A and perfect attendance. There are two ways to assist; volunteer to hand out certificates and prizes or help with lunch at the Straight A party. 1 hour commitment
Spirit Wear - Sales for our PTA are held online. Parents may purchase GMA t-shirts, sweatshirts and Spirit Wear. .
GMA Staff Appreciation - Celebrated the first week of May, parents and students are asked to donate gift cards and time to thank our teachers and staff.
