Renaissance

Goal

The Greenville High School Renaissance Program is an incentive program that sets academic goals for students and recognizes continuous academic excellence and achievements. Students who excel or improve their academic performance receive recognition and privileges such as free or reduced parking decals, free or reduced admission to athletic events, discounts and coupons from local businesses.

Purpose

This program assumes that education is the business of the entire community including students, teachers, administrators, staff members, parents, business partners, and local organizations. The Renaissance Program facilitates the entire community working together as a team to create a solid base of support and leadership for students, the school, and the community.

Students

Students will be awarded a Renaissance Card based on academic results, initiative, class attendance, public relations, and school and community involvement.

Academic Level

The card is based on the weighted grade point average from the previous semester . Cards will be awarded each semester.

Cards issued by GPA.

Platinum Card: 5.0 & above
Gold Card: 4.0 - 4.99
Silver Card: 3.0 - 3.99
Bronze Card: .5 improvement on weighted GPA over last semester or recommended by English teacher.
