Freshman Academy
Mission
The mission of the Freshman Academy is to provide the strategies and support that ninth grade students need in order to make a successful transition from middle school to high school by providing:
- a stimulating environment conducive to learning;
- a meaningful and challenging curriculum
- opportunities that prepare students to be responsible, contributing members of a global society.
The Goals
- Increase the number of students who successfully complete 9th grade
- Increase the attendance rate
- Decrease the number of referrals for discipline
- Raise student achievement levels
- Increase the number of students eligible for Renaissance
- Increase the number of students who participate in extracurricular activities
- Promote student awareness of post-secondary education and/or vocational needs in planning for the high school career
