Introduction to Drafting

Prerequisite: Algebra I or Math for Technology I, Geometry Concurrently

Syllabus

This course provides the student an extensive use of tools & basic drafting principles. Sketching, Measuring & Geometric constructions are utilized. The student will do 2D orthographics & 3D pictorials which include isometrics, obliques & perspectives. Class covers 1st nine weeks of semester & students receive dual credit with Greenville Tech.

Engineering Graphics

Grade Level:  10-12

Credit:  2 units per semester

Class Meets:  1st Semester AM/PM

Prerequisite:   Introduction to Drafting

This course picks up the basic concepts & applies them to advanced problems. Dimensions must meet ANSI standards. Sections, auxiliaries, fasteners & working drawings are covered. The CAD software is introduced. Class covers 2nd nine weeks with dual credit.

Mechanical CAD

Class Meets: 2nd semester AM/PM

Prerequisite:  Engineering Graphics

Syllabus

This course is an extension of 1st semester where most of the same concepts are applied to the computer. AutoCAD software & its fundamentals are taught as industry standard. A majority of problems are engineering based. Class covers 1st nine weeks & students receive dual credit with Greenville Tech.

Architectural CAD

Class Meets:   2nd semester AM/PM

Prerequisite: Engineering Graphics

Syllabus

Justin Robinson (MHS)
"I plan on pursuing a career in drafting.  This class has given we a great overview of CAD and design techniques."

This course takes the advanced drafting student into designing spaces. Projects will be based on residential design & construction using AutoCAD software. Model building is also utilized. Class covers 2nd nine weeks and students receive dual credit.
