Ib Graduation
2007

Greer High School congratulates Allyson Ray on receiving her IB Diploma during the 2007 School Year.  Allyson completed all the requirements and received passing marks in the higher level subjects of English, History of Europe and Biology and in the standard level subjects of Music, Mathematics and Spanish.  Allyson completed her Extended Essay research in History.  Allyson will be attending Baylor University in the Fall and plans to pursue Biomedical Research.

The IB Diploma program is an International high school diploma awarded through completion of six subject areas during the Junior and Senior year of high school, three higher level subjects and three standard level subjects.  Each subject requires assignments to be completed under the direction of their teachers that are then graded by international grades called internal assessments.  Students also complete examination in each subject, which are internationally grades as well.  In addition, students complete a Theory of Knowledge class and write an extended essay.  The extended essay is a research paper on the topic of their choice and allows students to pursue research in an area of interest to them.  Students may also receive certificates in individual subjects if they can not complete the full diploma program.   Students will receive their official IB Diploma and IB Certificates at a District wide ceremony in December.
