Magnet Academies
Greenville County School recognizes that students have different interests, skills, and learning styles. The District’s Magnet Academies of accelerated learning offer unique educational choices to the students of Greenville County. Magnet Academies offer a theme or focus that is designed to give students an opportunity to explore a special interest, gift, talent or skill.
International Baccalaureate
We also offer
the full range of International Baccalaureate curriculum:
Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma. While each
program has its own unique characteristics and requirements, they
share a common vision. Through comprehensive and balanced curricula
coupled with challenging assessments, International Baccalaureate aims to
develop the individual talents of young people and teach them to relate the
experience of the classroom to the realities of the world outside.
Extended Day After School Program
Several schools in Greenville County offer Extended Day After School Program opportunities for
children needing supervision while their parents are at work. The after school
time is very structured with a snack, academic assistance, homework and
recreational activities planned. Additional activities vary from one program to
another depending on the uniqueness of the school facility. The extended day
programs offer a service to the school community and provide enriching,
structured care for children.
Early Childhood Education
Greenville County has earned national recognition
for its early childhood
education . The high quality 4K and 5K programs contributed
to the fact that 88% of this year's first graders tested
"ready" for school. In addition, the network of Child
Development and Family Learning Centers have been successfully
providing 4 year old kindergarten, Family Learning/GED programs,
Parents as Teachers (PAT), English as a Second Language (ESL) and a

Alternative Programs
The Alternative
Programs of The School District of Greenville County provides short term
intervention programs that offer a structured learning environment designed to address the
academic and social needs of at-risk students.
Twilight School Program
The Twilight School program is designed for students who have failed a class, need credits to graduate with their class, or need a flexible schedule.
There are nearly a hundred learning centers in the District. Almost all
of them have web sites of their own where you can learn more about where they are and what
they do. We invite you to visit our schools and meet the students, teachers and
staff.
