Greenville, SC -- Online course registration for electives will begin March 4 and end March 19 for students who will enter grades 6 through 12 in 2010-2011.
The Student Registration System (SRS) allows parents and students to request elective courses (related arts classes) for the next school year from home via the Internet. Families who do not have access to the Internet will be given opportunities to use school computers to register online.
Using SRS ensures that parents have the opportunity to assist their child in requesting elective courses and allows school counselors and teachers more time for meetings with parents and students to discuss course content and placement issues.
Parents and students should understand that requesting a course through SRS does not guarantee that the student is placed in the course the next school year. Final placement in a course is dependent upon enrollment, scheduling feasibility, and teacher allocation.
Schools are in the process of providing instructions to parents on accessing SRS from home. Schools have posted the course catalog on the school website so that parents may see what courses will be offered by their school for 2010-2011. Elementary schools post their middle school course catalogs.
Parents without Internet access at home may request a printed copy of the course catalog. They are strongly encouraged to contact the school to find out dates and times for using school computers to assist them in registering their child. In addition, Parent Trainings are conducted by every school so parents who would like to seek assistance in using SRS should contact their school for the dates and times.

Career Centers
All students who wish to register for a Career Center program must complete a two-step application process.
- The first step is to complete an online application, which can be found on each Career Center website. Students may complete the application online, as it will be automatically emailed to the Career Center counselor when the student clicks “Send.” They may also get a paper copy of the application through the guidance office or by visiting the Career Center.
- Students will register for the Career Center courses in SRS during the Student Window: March 4-19. Students must complete registration in SRS to complete the process. Please note that submitting the online application and registering in SRS do NOT guarantee that he or she will be admitted to the Career Center program.
Questions should be directed to the student’s high school counselor or the Career Center counselor. Links to the four Career Centers can be found in the online High School Course Catalogs posted on each high school’s website.
