Thirty-two Blue Ridge High School students have topped the county in the number of SC All-State singers selected for participation in All-State Honors SATB or Women’s Choirs. Out of nearly 1,600 students who auditioned, 450 were chosen from across the state.
Four Blue Ridge High students attained the highest State score awarded in their respective voice category: Kaylee Boalt and Nicole Edwards, Alto; Luke Gilliam, Tenor; and Zach Wells, Bass.
All students selected for All-State will be preparing music this spring for the annual SC All-State Chorus Weekend March 18-20, 2010. A concert will be presented March 20, 2010 in Byrnes Auditorium at Winthrop University.
The Blue Ridge High Choirs are under the direction of Bruce McIntyre.
