Greenville County Schools Names Two Emerging Teachers of the Year

Greenville, SCIn addition to naming Wakesha Fogle the new Greenville County Teacher of the Year, Superintendent Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher announced today two Emerging Teachers of the Year.

Jeremy Sauceman, a fifth grade teacher at Sara Collins Elementary, was named the Elementary Level Emerging Teacher of the Year, while Edward Anderson, English Language Arts teacher at Lakeview Middle, was named Secondary Level Emerging Teacher of the Year.  

The Emerging Teachers of the Year Program, sponsored by Greenville Federal Credit Union, recognizes a second or third year teacher for outstanding performance. Each winner receives $500, a crystal award, and $500 for their school.

Jeremy Sauceman came to Sara Collins Elementary in the middle of the year. Parents were concerned about the change, but were quickly assured that their children were doing well with this teacher at the helm.

Mr. Sauceman’s strengths include interpreting and using data to improve classroom instruction and incorporating the use of technology in lessons.  The expertise of this outstanding teacher is shared with other staff members through in-school workshops and team meetings.

Mr. Sauceman works tirelessly to ensure that students are well-prepared for learning. Students not only excel but show remarkable achievement in the classroom.

With just two years of teaching under his belt, Edward Anderson has made an invaluable impact on the students, staff and families at Lakeview Middle School.  He is extremely personable, pleasant and positive, and always encouraging, which has resulted in positively impacting the school climate.

Mr. Anderson encourages students to use blogging and websites in their research, and incorporates advanced technology such as the Promethean Board in classroom instruction.   He is also actively involved in many school events and serves as advisor to students through various school clubs and teams.
