The District currently enjoys data connectivity for over 100 of its locations due to the wide area network which ETS maintains. In addition to internal connectivity, Internet connectivity is also provided.
This internal connectivity allows the District to implement numerous technology initiatives that greatly enhance the educational experience of students as well as provide essential administrative tools to its employees.
Each location typically has it own internal infrastructure that connects classrooms, offices, cafeterias, Media centers and gymnasiums. The typical topology in these locations is Ethernet cabling with at least two file servers running Microsoft Server 2003 operating systems.
Each location is connected via a router and a fiber connection. The district's data center has a 500 mbit connection into the internal network. A 100 mbit Internet line connects all district locations to the Internet.
Also housed at the district office are many systems that provide central services to all district locations. These systems run all types of hardware and operating systems including Microsoft Windows 2003 and Linux.
