Intel Teach to the Future - Course Description

The Intel Teach to the Future Course may be taken for renewal credit or graduate credit through Furman University. Furman charges $225.00 for three hours of graduate credit and a $50.00 application fee for new students (subject to change).

Graduate Credit

On completion of the course, you must contact Furman University (Phyllis Bray 294-2213) and request that your transcripts be sent to Dianne Hughes at the District Office. Mrs. Hughes will process the information and make sure that you are credited with three hours of graduate credit on your certificate.

Renewal Credit

If you choose not to purchase the gradute credit through Furman University, you will receive three hours of renewal credits.. Renewal credit is not the same as district points, therefore, Intel will not appear on the district points sheet. Please follow the steps below to make sure you have received the three hours of renewal credit.

  1. Log onto the recertification website: https://www.scteachers.org/apps/mycert/logon.cfm
  2. Look under the documents received section
  3. Look for an entry that says Renewal Credits with a date of 1-2 months after you completed Intel. The SDE does not record specific classes. All classes taken for renewal credit will be listed under Renewal Credit field as the generic name.
  4. If you do not see the Renewal Credit Entry or believe you have not received Renewal Credit for the Intel course, Please contact Jeff McCoy at jmccoy@greenville.k12.sc.us or 355-3134
