Fuss Busters

Fuss Busters is a peer mediation program that focuses on creative conflict resolution skills, active listening, defusing anger, brainstorming, and mediation. The goal of the program is to help students learn to be "Fuss Busters" and resolve the problems that arise in school. This process emphasizes that each person gain an understanding of the other person’s perspective. Solutions to conflicts are generated by the “fussers” and result in agreements that are durable. Mediation takes place in a private, confidential setting.  The Fuss Busters participate in training that helps them to guide their peers through a problem solving and decision making process. Two Fuss Busters conduct each mediation session, along with the supervision of a trained school faculty member.  Faculty Sponsor: Mrs. Pettigrew
