Fork Shoals LMC Mission: To ensure that students and staff are effective users of
information.
Fork Shoals Library Media Center (LMC) runs a flexible scheduled program.
Students may come to the LMC any time that their teacher allows during operating hours. We have an open door policy for parents and volunteers and encourage
you to drop in and see what's happening in the LMC. We have a strong volunteer
program and wish you to be a part of your child's education while also
benefiting all our students by helping in the LMC.
Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board will continue again this year at Fork Shoals. The
Library Advisory Board consists of an administrator, 2 staff representatives,
the LMC parent volunteer coordinator and 2 parents. To find out more about the
Advisory Board and how to be a volunteer in the library media center, stop by
and talk to Ms. Knight.
Book Fairs!
There will be THREE book fairs in the Fork Shoals Library this year! They are tentatively scheduled for September, February, and May. Look in upcoming library newsletters for more information.
S.E.E.D.S.
PTA
and the LMC sponsor a S.E.E.D.S. (Supporting
Elementary Education
Development Skills)
program at Fork Shoals School. This program developed by our school
district, has volunteers reading selected library books and leading
complimentary activities in classrooms. Parents provide the program to
kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classrooms. Look for information on
district training sessions, and please visit the Fork Shoals Library if you
have any questions.
