Black History Month
Students are encouraged to take action and research famous African Americans and their inventions and/or accomplishments during the month of February in honor of Black History Month. These projects will be displayed in the cafeteria for all to see.

Games for Spring Spectacular
Our PTA is looking for ideas for possible new games for the Spring Spectacular. Forms were sent home last week and are also available here. Students are encouraged to send in game ideas as individuals, groups, or classes. Details about the game should be included such as how to play, materials needed, and rules. Game ideas are due March 6th.

Walk at School Day
Fork Shoals students may not walk to school, but we can have a walk at school day! Our first participation in this activity will be on Wednesday, March 4th. Parents are invited to come to walk on the track at the old building with their child from 7:15-7:45 that morning. There will be a water station and Safety Patrols will have pedestrian safety and healthy lifestyle information. A flyer can be found in this week's folders and reminders will be sent. Mark your calendars now to participate in this first time event for FSS!

Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars
Forms are coming home this week for the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars Program. This can be done along with our school Quarterly Reading Challenge. Reading All-Stars forms will be due to Ms. Knight on or before March 6th. All students who turn in the form will receive a voucher for the Greenville Drive celebration game on Monday, April 13th. Let's plan to have a huge turnout for Fork Shoals School by showing our love of reading!

3rd Quarter Reading Challenge
Our 3rd Quarter Reading Challenge has begun! Your goal is to read as much as possible between now and March 24th. Reading logs have been sent home, and extras are available in the library or here. All reading logs will be due no later than Friday, March 27th (our last day before Spring Break). After Spring Break, prizes will be awarded to the top readers in each grade level, and every participant will receive recognition.
