Dear DCC Parents and Students:
We sincerely appreciate you being a part of the DCC Family. As one of four career centers in Greenville County Schools, DCC is in the southern part of the county and is on the cutting edge for technology in our career programs. Our programs are listed on the web. Please look at the course offerings and keep sending your student to us for quality training. The Greenville workforce is beginning to require the Work Keys and Key Train certification in order to secure a good job. Your student has the opportunity earn a gold, silver or bronze certification, which will enable the companies in the upstate to hire him or her with out further testing. The job market is very competitive and we are here to help your student. Other areas that your student can be a part of are the youth organizations. HOSA for Health Science Technology, Pro Start and Safe Serve for Culinary Arts, Skills USA for all other technical courses. Students participate in competition in local, state and national areas. These organizations promote leadership skills, management skills and technical skills, and help to develop your student in to a well-rounded person. In Aircraft Maintenance, Auto Tech, Multimedia, and Construction students are able to earn credit at Greenville Technical College. Dual credit saves you tuition money and helps the student to get a head start in college. Please ask our counselor for more information into this program. At Donaldson Career Center, each student is special and we make sure we treat your son or daughter with respect, dignity, and, most important, give your child a personal touch to plan his or her future in a career, not just a job.
