Five Greenville County Schools Earn Red Carpet Status
GREENVILLE,
S.C. - Five Greenville County schools have been selected as Red Carpet
Schools, an award presented by the State Department of Education that
recognizes schools with outstanding family-friendly environments. Winning
schools receive red carpets with the state seal to display in their
lobbies.
This year’s local recipients of the Red
Carpet School designation are Augusta Circle Elementary, Bryson
Elementary, J. L. Mann High Academy, Mauldin Elementary, and Summit Drive
Elementary. They join 25 Greenville County schools that previously
received the award.
“I am very proud of these and other
schools’ efforts to ensure students, parents and visitors feel welcome and
appreciated in their schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher.
“Involving parents and others in the community is an important key to
success for all schools.”
These schools go ‘above and beyond’ when
it comes to providing excellent customer service. They provide warm,
inviting environments where parents and others are welcome and are
important members of the school family.
Schools were judged on a variety of
factors, including the exterior and interior appearance of the campus, the
manner in which persons were treated in person and over the telephone, and
the information and programs available for families and visitors. Schools
maintain their Red Carpet status for three years.
