VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position — Pool for School Administrative Assistants

Location —Greenville County Schools- Elementary, Middle, or High

Posting Date — January 12, 2012

Salary Range — Teacher’s Salary Schedule

Length of Service9 ˝ months      

Major Responsibilities:

(1) Assist the principal and/or assistant principal with the overall daily school operations; (2) assist with classroom visits and observations and hold follow-up conferences with teachers; (3) confer with students and parents regarding achievement, growth, discipline, extra-curricular activities, and other matters believed to be related to the success of the students; (4) assist in the supervision of extracurricular activities; (5) assist with the preparation of referrals, in cooperation with counselors, for student personnel services (e.g., health, special services, suspensions); (6) assist with the operation of student transportation; (7) assist with parent conferences as required; (8) represent the school in community functions when requested by the principal; and (9) other duties as assigned by the principal.

 

Qualifications:

(1) Qualifying for South Carolina certification in Educational Leadership/School Administration or currently enrolled in an accredited administrative certification program (see requirement #3 below); (2) at least three years of successful teaching experience; (3) completion of ADEPT/PAS-T evaluator training by August 2012; (4) demonstrated leadership abilities; (5) effective communication skills at all levels; (6) understanding of effective teaching strategies; (7) proficient in the use of technology; and (8) willingness to work flexible hours.

3.      A copy of your current SC educator certificate in Educational Leadership/School Administration.  If you are currently enrolled in an accredited program to become certified in Educational Leadership/School Administration, provide a letter from the Registrar’s office or an unofficial copy of your current transcript with a copy of your current South Carolina Teaching Certificate.   (Preference: One email with attachments in WORD format)
