SAT Scores Continue to Improve
SAT scores are on the rise for students
attending Greenville County Schools, increasing seven points from 1004 to
1011. In fact, SAT scores have increased every year since 1999.
The SAT improvement is even more noteworthy when you consider that 2,232
students took the SAT, the largest number of GCS students to ever take the
SAT. Typically, test scores remain about the same or decline when more
students are tested.
SAT - 11 Point Increase With 12% More Seniors Taking The
Test

Seven schools scored above the national
public school SAT average of 1016. Schools are Greenville (1017),
Southside (1023), Wade Hampton (1034), Mauldin (1037), Eastside (1047), JL
Mann (1059), and Riverside (1130). Five of these schools scored above the
national SAT average of 1026 for all schools.
Riverside High School had the highest SAT Composite score for any
traditional high school in South Carolina! Only Charleston’s Academic
Magnet High (1208) and the Governor’s School for Math and Science (1361)
had higher scores. Greer High School had the largest point increase in the
school system (45).
