Preschool Special Education is the branch of special education committed to
young children with disabilities beginning at age three and ending as the child
reaches eligibility for placement as a school age child. Research and experience
clearly document that children with disabilities benefit most when identified
and served early in life. Greenville County Schools demonstrates a commitment to
a good start for our very youngest children by providing comprehensive early
childhood identification beginning at two and one-half years of age and
intervention beginning at age three. Greenville County School's Child Find
initiative accepts referrals from parents, community agencies, health care
providers, child care programs and teachers.
The mission of Preschool Special Education Services is to help schools
and
families educate young children with disabilities.
