The Riley Child Development Center, focuses on school readiness and improving literacy, by exposing four year old children to an environment rich in language and print. The 4k and preschool special education classes involve a balanced, standards-based curriculum which provides a myriad of child-centered and authentic approaches, for developing and enhancing current skill sets across all developmental domains.  The High/ Scope curriculum is the framework for the daily schedule, classroom environment, and teacher interactions.  In addition, as the child’s first and most important teacher, parents are encouraged to participate, in a variety of ways that involve and educate families.

The Riley Child Development Center was named in honor of former US Secretary and Governor Richard and Mrs. Riley.  The Riley family donated a life size sculpture of a mother and child that was originally on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion.
