Four-Year-Old Kindergarten (4K)
Students whose fourth birthday is on or before
September 1, of the current school year may enroll in full -day
kindergarten classes for four- year-olds. Classes

to the 4K teachers. Itinerant services are provided for children
with special needs who are enrolled in the regular 4K program.
Parent Educators (PAT)
provide bi-monthly home visitation. This
program is available to students enrolled in Family Learning GED
classes and parents of preschool special education and 4K
students with a younger sibling (birth - age 4). The
program is offered in our Child Development Centers and some
elementary schools. This program provides information on
child development, the value of a print-rich environment and
tips on how to inspire children to be great readers. The
nationally recognized Parents as Teachers curriculum is also
used. Families are invited to
parent/child activities,
parent workshops and book celebrations. For more
