Kindergarten And First Grade

Children who will be five years old on or before September 1 of the current year must enroll in public or private kindergarten, unless the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver. Any child who will be six years old on or before September 1 of the current year must enroll in first grade. To enroll a new student in the child development program for four-year-old children, kindergarten, or first grade, a parent must present the following at registration:

• state-issued birth certificate, and
• a properly completed immunization certificate or religious exemption certificate.
• Social Security Card
• Proof of Residence - Commission of Public Works (CPW) Statement
• Parent Picture ID

Schools also require a student identification number. Social Security numbers are requested. If a child is entering school for the first time, the parent is encouraged to register him or her before the opening day of school. Bus Tag Applications for K5 - 1ST Grade

If you have a kindergarten or first grade student who will ride the bus, please fill out the Bus Tag Application Form and return the completed form to school.  For the 2011- 2012 school year bus tag application click here.  **Please see the Handbook for new bus procedures.**
