DeJana is a third grader in Ms. Woodward's class. She is nine years old and has one brother, Cortez. DeJana likes to eat pizza and get on the computer at home. When she grows up, she would like to be a teacher because it's cool.

The Deer Who Could Sing

(page 1) There is a deer named John. He had a voice like an angel. All his friends knew how he sang. They liked his singing but the whole world did not know his singing. But there is an evil wolf that makes people's words twisted.

(page 2) But then the evil wolf came and said you'll never sing better than me because I'm the world champ at singing and that's a fact. The deer said yes I will because my mom taught me and she is very good at it. Then the poor deer ran home and started to cry.

(page 3) Mom deer said what's the matter with you. John said that evil wolf said I can't sing as good as him. She said, oh honey, you can you just believe in yourself. Really. Yes really. Then John ran out the door and skipped into the apple trees.

(page 4)Then the deer came and said you know what, maybe I don't sing as good as you but I can sing good so he left the evil wolf and came home to eat a snack.

(page 5) But finally someone deserved his singing.

(page 6) Now he's famous forever.
