In the Buena Vista Elementary Media
Center we will read, learn new things, find information
we need, and have fun with books.
|
|
Visit Us
Our media
center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday
through Friday. Students, parents, and teachers
may visit during this time to find and read books.
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit and
check out books.
Several times during the year, parents are also invited
to participate in book fairs, lunch with students, and
other events. |

| Checkout
Policies |
|
| All students may checkout
books during library hours (7:30am - 2:45pm) with their
teacher's permission. Books may be returned when
students come to checkout books or some teachers have
baskets located in the classrooms.
Students in Grades
1 - 5 may checkout one (1) book if they have an overdue
book checked out.

Kindergarten: K5 students come to
the media center on a weekly basis and may checkout one
(1) book at a time. If their teacher is using
Accelerated Reader (AR) in the classroom, then that
teacher will checkout AR books for the students.

|
1st Grade: First grade
students come to the media center for a 45 minute lesson
on an A/B week schedule. They may checkout one (1)
book at a time.

|
2nd & 3rd Grade: grade
students come to the media center for a 45 minute lesson
on an A/B week schedule. They may checkout two (2)
books at a time.

|
4th & 5th Grade: Fourth and
Fifth grade students come to the media center for a 45
minute lesson on an A/B week schedule. They may
checkout three (3) book at a time.

Parents: Parents are always
welcome and are encourage to visit the media center and
checkout books.

| Lost or Damaged Books: |
|
The media center must replace any lost
books or books damaged beyond repair. If damage is
minor and can be taped without effecting the quality or
readability of the book then no fines will be charged.
If the book is beyond repair, then students must pay the
replacement cost of the book.
The average cost of a library book is $12.00 - $18.00 |
