Sports Participation Guidelines

Seventh and eighth grade students are eligible to participate in middle school sports. Students who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to participate. Students must pass all courses in order to play.

Students who desire the privilege of participating in extracurricular activities at a Greenville County school must conduct themselves in accordance with the school's discipline code. The community, school administrators, teachers and coaches feel strongly that high standards of conduct and citizenship are essential precepts of a sound extracurricular activities program. Other precepts include the instilling positive attitude, character, and integrity within the students who participate. Participants are expected to be role models and set a positive example for all. Students who take part in such activities, in effect, function as representatives of their school. Accordingly, the student's behavior commands a public interest and attention that is unique in its capacity to denigrate or elevate the district, school, and his/her team/organization. Therefore, all participants shall abide by a code of conduct specifically for extracurricular activities. Read the GCSD Code of Conduct for Sports Participation.

Administration Login Volleyball Tryouts 7/19/2010 Revised- Tryouts will begin Aug 9 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the BMS gym. Bring a water bottle. Physicals are required to try out. We will have tryouts each day and make cuts continually during the week. We are looking for students who have advanced skills and are familiar with system play. Open Gym at Bryson 7/6/2010 Revised: We will have an open gym at Bryson Middle on July 8 from 8:30 - 10:30 AM and again on July 19 from 8:30 - 10:30 AM. No sign up required, bring your own water bottle. Middle school age friends can come. We'll review fundamentals of system play and basic skills. Drop off and pick up a the car holding entrance. Make sure your ride is there at 10:30! We will also have Open Gym at Simpsonville Rec on July 13 and 14 from 5:30 - 7:30. Again, please make sure your ride is there to pick you up on time. Summer Conditioning - AXIS 6/4/2010 If you are interested in summer conditioning for volleyball, AXIS at Livnnsidout is offering a middle school 6 week program starting Jun 28. It will be on Mondays and Thursdays. Cost is $110. If you are interested, email Julie Bagwell at jkbagwel@greenville.k12.sc.us. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - BRYSON vs. MAULDIN 10/23/2009 WE ARE THRILLED TO HAVE HOSTED AND WON THE GREENVILLE COUNTY VOLLEYBALL CHAMPTIONSHIP MATCH - BRYSON vs. MAULDIN at 5:00!! WAY TO GO LADY BULLDOGS!! Bryson Middle Wins Mauldin Mustang Invitational Tournament! 9/5/2009 Way to go Lady Bulldogs! Lady Bulldogs were undefeated at the Mauldin Mustang Invitational Tournament on Sept. 5 held at Mauldin High School! Hard work and focus has payed off as they celebrate their pre-season victory as tournament champs! They beat Greer Middle, Northwood Middle, Lakeview Middle, Berea Middle, Woodruff, then Greer again for the Championship!! Way to go girls!!
