No Book Left Unread: Make a Summer Splash
READ @ Your Library
2010 Summer Reading Program

Print a Reading Log or save it to your computer, log your minutes as you read, and email to: theckman@greenville.k12.sc.us.

Once again, Blue Ridge High School is participating in the State’s Summer Reading Program, No Book Left Unread.  The purpose of No Book Left Unread  is to encourage K-12 students to engage in self-selected recreational summer reading to prevent learning loss and to foster improved student achievement.

This year’s theme is “Make a Summer Splash”. NBLU participants will count minutes read and not pages read. Participants may read magazines (the pages should contain at least 50% text), newspapers, as well as online reading (books, newspapers, magazines, blogs, wikis, etc.).

Here at Blue Ridge, we are challenging students, faculty and parents to read for at least 30 minutes a day, so that we may reach our school goal of 2 million minutes.

You may record your minutes from June 1 through August 31, 2010.
Return your completed forms to the library by September 7, 2010.
Stop by the library to pick-up a reading log or print one Reading Log.

We will have a drawing in the fall for all those who participated with a chance to win books, Tiger Café passes, flash drives and gift certificates.
At the state level, the high school that reads the most minutes will win books.  The student and faculty/staff member who reads the most minutes will win prizes of books, gift certificates and tickets to the banquet.

Let us know what you’re reading on our “Blue Ridge Reads” blog at http://theckman.blog.greenville.k12.sc.us

Thank you for your support.
