Career Foundations Program
Instructors:
Adair Johnson (English), Dashia Meeks (Mathematics)

The Career Foundations Program is designed for students who are not passing their high school courses and have limited prospects for doing so.  Through math and English instruction coupled with technical education classes, selected students are given the opportunity to rediscover their potential.  Students who apply and are chosen for this program will make bus connections at their parent high school, but otherwise spend all of their day at Bonds Career Center.  The criteria for student selection include the following:

  • Must have the desire and commitment to change past performance and attitude in order to be successful.

  • Must have a fair probability of succeeding in the career preparation program as evidenced during the selection process.

  • Must have parental support and encouragement.

  • Must be failing the majority of the required high school courses and have little chance of acquiring credits.

  • Must not have any major discipline offenses in the past year.

  • Must not have extreme absenteeism.
