With the onset of winter, inclement weather prevails. Snow
and ice can cause school closings, delayed openings, and
early dismissals. When the weather is severe, always check
the radio or television stations for emergency school
announcements. Official announcements about Greenville
County School System closings will be broadcast on WYFF-TV
(channel 4) and Charter Cable Channels 14 or 99. You can
also call the school districts INFOLine at 355-3100 or click
here to check the Greenville County Schools website.
Decisions to close schools will be made on a daily basis by
6:00 am each morning.
|
When schools are on a two-hour delay, No breakfast will be
served. Buses will run two hours later than their normal
times. School will begin two hours later than the regularly
scheduled time. Instead of 8:00, the tardy bell will ring at
10:00. Please note that students will not be supervised
until 9:30 when there is a two-hour delay.
|
|
On rare occasions, developing weather may make early
dismissal of school necessary. Should the weather become bad
during school hours, you should listen to the radio or TV
stations for instructions. DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL. Our
telephone lines need to be kept open so that we can receive
instructions from the District Office. Parents whose
children ride the bus home will need to stay up-to-date on
possible closings by calling the INFOLine or checking the
school districts website. Children who ride home with their
parents will be supervised by adults at the school until
they are picked up by their parents. Please discuss with
your child in advance the procedure you will follow in getting your child
home early. |
