Geometric Shapes

Kindergarten artists learned about geometric and organic shapes after viewing the artwork Les Betes de la Mer (The Beasts of the Sea) by Henri Matisse.  These kindergarteners cut both kinds of shapes from construction paper.  Geometric shapes are shapes that you can name, like squares, circles, triangles, ovals, etc.  Organic shapes are free form shapes you often find in nature.  Later, kindergarten artists glued their geometric and organic shapes to a blue painting they made another sessions (tints and shades).  What undersea beasts do you see in these artworks?
