100,000 Book Reading Goal Met
Bethel students have been working hard this year to reach a school-wide goal to read at least 100,000 books. The school recently announced that students actually read 126,570 books! Bethel’s administrative team followed through with their promise to have pies thrown in their faces. Brenda Byrd (principal), Susan Skelton (assistant principal), Julie Cooke (administrative assistant), and Kim Brice (instructional coach) enjoyed rewarding the students for their efforts with reading!
Calling all students to “Make a Splash” and read this summer. We encourage you to complete Reading Bingo by reading at least 5 books from different genres. You can read going down, across, or diagonally. Click on the summer reading link for more information. We would also love for you to submit a picture of yourself reading. We would love to put these on our bulletin board near the library and maybe even the school website. You can submit the picture to firstname.lastname@example.org or give the picture to Mrs. Kaye in the library. The reading log and all pictures are due by Friday, August 30, 2013.
