Previous Teaching Experience: I began my career teaching first grade in Laurens County at Laurens Primary for one year. I then taught first grade two more years in Greenville County at Greenview Elementary. I moved to Easley and taught third grade in Anderson School District One at Spearman Elementary for five years. While teaching at Spearman I went back to school to get my master's degree in Library Science at the University of South Carolina and have been at Bethel now for four years as the media specialist, which I love!
Why a teacher:Teaching runs in my family! Both my parents were teachers. I think I was born to be a teacher. I love working with students and seeing a student's eyes light up when they understand something I taught. I really enjoy being a media specialist because I get to combine my two favorite things; technology and reading. I just love discussing books with students and introducing new genres or books they might like. Every day is different in the library. I think I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me!
