Berea High School
*Alma Mater

        Berea, we come from afar
        To enter thy royal doors
To drink from the fountain of wisdom
        To seek our knowledge here
        Majestic, pure, and lovely,
All through the ages you'll stand
        The noblest, the truest,
The best in the land, Alma Mater

        Berea, Berea, praise her name
        On, on, bring her fame
        Forth with joyful, loving hearts
        Bravely do our part.
Berea, Berea, green, gold, and white,
        Boys, girls always fight
Forever strive to do what's right
        For Berea High School.

*The Berea High School Alma Mater was written in 1933 by Mrs. Eleanor F. Farr, who was asked by one of her teachers to write a song and "will" it to the school as the Alma Mater.  The words were written and fitted to the tune of an old hymn.  The school used this as the Alma Mater until 1953 when Miss Hannah Lou Dargan, music director arranged the tune for chorus.  In 1963 Mr. James McMahan, school band director, arranged the work for band.
