PTA NEWS

Do you like being informed of events happening at school, attending the school carnival, teading the newsletter or having a directory of students? If so we need YOU to step up and fill a position on the PTA. Without someone or a group of people to chair these events/activities we will NOT be able to have them, and yes, that includes the carnival! The open positions are: President Elect, VP Volunteers Co-chair, VP Ways and Means Co-chair, Carnival Co-chair, Newsletter, School Directory, Publicity, Grounds, Legislative, and Hospitality. SCHOOL STORE SALE: The PTA will be selling previous years' Bells' Crossing Spirit items at the school store at reduced prices as long as supplies last. Many items will be on sale (50% off or more) May 14-May 25th. Friday, May 25th will be the last day the store will be open this school year. Thank you for all the smiling faces and wonderful business this year! This year's anniversary "Peace, Love, Eagles" and "02" t-shirts are now on sale for 1/2 off - Soid: $5; Tie-dyed:$7.50.

SEEDS: If you have any SEEDS books checked out, please make sure they are returned to the library by Friday, May 25. We have a few books that have been our several months that need to be returned. If you have any questions, contact Stacy Daniels, SEEDS coordinator at sundance1998@hotmail.com

LAST DAY FOR EXTEND DAY CARE - Friday, May 25th. There will be NO EXTEND DAY during the last week of school, May 29th - June 1st.

 

SCHOOL NEWS

5TH GRADE DAY: Thursday May, 24th. Awards start at 8:15am.

FROM THE HEALTH ROOM: Please be sure to pick up all medications by noon on June 1 or they will be destroyed.

What is SIC? SIC stands for School Improvement Council. This group is comprised of teachers, parents, and community members. SICs play a key role in the education of our children by bringing together educators, parents, and community members to work together to improve their local schools (source www.sic.gov). This committe is an advisory group to Bell's Crossing; it does not focus on fund raising. Interested in learning more or becoming a member for the upcoming school year? If so, please contact Stacy Daniel, SIC chair, at sundance1998@hotmail.com

If you drink COKE products, please save the bottle caps to help our school. Dasani water included. The cases have a code on the plastic wrapper. You can enter the codes at www.mycokerewards.com/schools or send the caps/codes to school and we will make sure they get entered. This is a great way to earn points towards supplies and recreational items for the school. a big thank you to those who have already been entering points and donating them to the school!

Lunch  $2.00 daily/$10.00 weekly

Adult Lunch  $3.25

v       Lunch account payments MUST INCLUDE ACCOUNT NUMBER, CHILD’S FIRST NAME AND LAST NAME.

v       Lunch accounts must be current to purchase snacks. Snacks are extra and if parents do not want students to use lunch accounts to purchase snackes, please call Tina Merritt at 355-3808 to put a note on the student account.

v       Free and reduced price meal applications can be obtained from the cafeteria and can be returned to your child’s teacher

v       THERE IS A NEW ONLINE LUNCH PAYMENT SYSTEM CALLED "MYSCHOOLBUCKS" FOUND ON THE DISTRICT WEBSITE AT http://www.greenville.k12.sc.us. CHOOSE"Meals and More."

v       Free and reduced price meal applications can be obtained from the Food and Nutrition Services section on the district website at http://greenville.k12.sc.us and select "Meals and More" or from the front office at Bell's.
