 Experience

  • 2008 – date            Assistant Principal – Bell’s Crossing Elementary

Classroom visits and observations, conferencing with teachers, students and parents, regarding achievement, discipline,  referrals, attendance, and extra-curricular activities.  Set up peer-tutoring club, organized instructional clubs for grades 3 – 5. Conduct teacher in service. Team leader for APS, and served on A-Team and yearbook committees.  Responsible for mentoring new teachers in 4th grade and supporting teachers throughout the school. Support with IGPro, Excel and other classroom questions as they arose.

Organized instructional clubs for 3-5 grades. Served as Lead teacher for A-Team, Team leader for Academic Plans, Yearbook advisor, SIC member, PTA board member, United Way representative, IGPro staff support, developed school-wide schedule.

Worked with faculty council and reported back to team with regard to school issues.  Chaired weekly meeting.

Planned for all subjects, differentiate instruction, and implement Baldrige tools for continuous improvement. Used MAP and PACT data to develop instruction and gain knowledge of student academic strengths and weakness.  Used baseline data to monitor student progress. Created assessments and develop rubrics in each subject.  Integrated subjects through literature, writing, and technology by using cross-curricular links and use of Everyday Counts Calendar Math.  Pilot inclusion of 4th grade special education students with social studies and science.
