Ms. Trista Abernethy

Working with young people is something that I have always wanted to do, even as a little girl. My parents are both teachers in North Carolina.  Growing up I was able to see how satisfying their work was for them; I knew that education was the profession for me.  I went to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to make this dream a reality.  I not only received an excellent education in Middle Grades Math, but I also was able to live at the beach.  I love the ocean!!!  My husband and I have three children that keep us moving!  They bring us lots of joy, as well as lots of dirty clothes.  After finishing up my Master’s Degree at Clemson University, I shifted roles from classroom teacher into the world of school administration.  This opportunity allows me the opportunity to work with students, parents, teachers, and the Beck community at large.  It is a privilege to have the opportunity to do what I do each and every day, and hope that this year is as rewarding as the last sixteen.  Thanks for sharing a year with me.
