What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. PBIS is a proactive approach to school-wide discipline. PBIS promotes direct instruction of behavioral expectations and social behaviors, while maximizing students’ engagements through prevention and intervention strategies. The students are trained on these behaviors at the beginning of the year, mid- year, and right before the end of the year.
Incentives are given to students and classes that meet the school-wide expectations. These incentives include Eagle Bucks and Golden Eagle Eggs.
What are Eagle Bucks?
Eagle Bucks are given individually to students who are showing Alexander Eagles 3 R’s….students are Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.
Students can earn eagle bucks from any staff member.
The students collect these bucks to purchase items from our Eagle Cart monthly.
What are Golden Eagle Eggs?
Eagle Eggs are given to classes that are meeting behavior expectations throughout the building. The entire class must be meeting the expectations in order to receive the Golden Eagle Egg. The Eagle egg is displayed in a nest outside of each classroom door. When the class earns 20 Golden Eagle Eggs, they can choose a class celebration.
Alexander Elementary is very excited about PBIS!
