Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to another school year at Augusta Circle. I am enjoying my sixth year at ACE.  I adore working with your children and continuing our excellent traditions. We are so proud of our hundred year old school and the history we are making here at ACE!

We are so excited about our new additions for the 2023-2024 school year:

Along with these new wonderful additions, we have had a few shifts around the building.  First, Ms. Baker has moved from 5th grade to 3rd year with our bubble group making 5 third grade classrooms this year.  Ms. White has also moved up with her second graders from the 2022-23 school year to have another year in third grade.  Our challenge teacher, Stephanie Gamble, has shifted into our Instruction Coach position. Suzanne Billings will now be our Guidance Counselor with the retirement of Patti Rushing. Please refer to the updated ACE parent-student handbook on our school website to read about school and district policies and procedures. Many procedures have been updated and further explained. If you would like a paper copy of the handbook, please contact the office.

Arrival reminders: All students will enter through the front office door each morning. Students should be in class by 7:45. We will have staff members helping all students find their way to their classrooms in the morning.

Dismissal reminders: All K5 & 1st grade students that are walkers must be released to a designated adult or student designee that is in the 4th or 5th grade. Parents or designees must meet the teacher at the gate by the cottage with their student dismissal number. Students will not be released without a designee. This is for your child’s safety.  We appreciate your help and support while we do all we can to maintain the safest dismissal possible for all children.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. My email address is mmelehes@greenvile.k12.sc.us and my phone number is 864-355-1200. I am looking forward to another great school year!
