Throughout its history, Augusta Circle Elementary School has excelled in training young minds for academic achievement, leadership, and social responsibility. Many school graduates are recognized as national, state, and local leaders as well as successful professional and business persons. The fact that Augusta Circle has been selected as a Palmetto's Finest School and as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence also confirms the tradition of academic strength. Most recently Augusta Circle Elementary achieved the South Carolina Red Carpet award for having a family friendly environment. The school has also received the Palmetto Gold Award for an Excellent score on the state report card since 2002.
Thanks to the generosity of the
PTA and the Greenville School District, Augusta Circle is technologically a
state-of-the-art school with interactive Promethean Boards in every class,
document readers, digital cameras and classroom sets of wireless laptops for
each grade level.
Augusta Circle is a strong school whose
strength comes from its people-teachers, parents, community and students. The
faculty is stable with the average teacher having 14 years of teaching
experience - 9 of those years at Augusta Circle. Alumni and the award-winning
PTA (National Parental Involvement, Legislative Advocacy Award) have a tradition
of outstanding support for the school. Parents and graduates contribute to every
aspect of school life as they donate their energy, money, and time (over $40,000
and over 22,000 volunteer hours each year). Over 24% of the students choose to
attend on special permission.
Augusta Circle is also a caring school. Visitors
find a warm, positive climate throughout the building and in every classroom.
Our Motto, "Kids are the heart of Augusta Circle," says it all.

My husband, Bill Bannister, is an attorney with Bannister &
Wyatt law firm. We have three sons: Jim and Bruce, who practice law with their
father, and
Tom who is a pediatric intensive care specialist at Palmetto Children's Hospital
in Columbia, South Carolina.
