Greenville County Schools would like to recognize our student-athletes by announcing a male and female "Player of the Week" presented by Ingles. Athletes are nominated by their coaches and athletic directors for their excellence on the court. This week’s winners are:

Alexandra Martinez, Wrestling, Hillcrest High. Alexandra is part of a small group of female wrestlers in the state, but that didn’t stop her from competing and placing in the Carolina Invitational. Alexandra got into wrestling after watching her older brother compete. At the Carolina Invitational, a state meet for JV and middle school wrestlers, Alexandra wrestled up a weight class and placed 3rd overall.

Dorian Hashim, Forward, Berea Bulldogs. Berea currently sits atop the Region-II AAA standings. Dorian helped keep the Bulldogs on top with big games in two big region contests. On the road at Blue Ridge, Dorian poured in 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. At home versus Chapman, Dorian got a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds to go with 17 points.
